Never knowingly undersold
Why on earth didn't I know that Christopher Eccleston is going to be the next Doctor Who? This is hugely important news and should have been instantly relayed into my consciousness. I should have spent last week looking at Doctor Who websites and getting all worked up and excitable. What shouldn't have happened is Jarvis (rabid sci-fi hater and enemy of all geekdom) breaking the news to me over a bowl of noodles: Jarvis: So, YAAGers, you like Doctor Who don't you? YAAGers: I don't think "like" really covers it. Jarvis: Christ, you're a geek. Anyway, what do you think about Christopher Eccleston - yes or no? YAAGers: How do you mean? Jarvis: He's going to be the next Doctor Who. YAAGers: OhMyGodWhyDidINotKnowThat?! But the answer is "yes". Most definitely. He may even knock Paul McGann and Peter Davison off the top of the "Doctor I'd Most Like To Get Stuck In The Tardis With" list. Oh yeah, that's what I'm talking about. Yum. I think I may have to start applying for a job as his assistant...
Have I had my head in a box all week?
